Maurin Auxéméry

Festival International de Jazz de Montréal,

Francos de Montréal, MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE

Rocked to sleep under the Jazz in Marciac big top in southwest France and bottle-fed to the music of Thelonious Monk, Stan Getz and Miles Davis, Maurin Auxéméry moved to Québec in 2006. He fell in love with Québec, its culture and its people and above all the institution he would join in 2013: the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.

On his arrival in Montréal, he studied the basics of music production with a jazz label working on the production of local artists’ albums and a series of concerts.

From 2009 to 2013, he worked as an independent to promote jazz through Québec and Canada organising tours for artists like Tigran Hamasyan, Erik Truffaz, Benoit Charest and the Triplettes de Belleville. He also supported artists such as Elisapie to develop their careers.

When he joined the programming team in September 2013, it was a teenage dream come true. Since then, his desire to discover the artistic talents of tomorrow has never wavered.

He was appointed director of programming for the Spectra festivals in 2022 (Francos de Montréal, Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and Montréal en Lumière).
