Her discography which embraces Chopin, Shostakovich, Debussy, Brahms, Milhaud, Tansman, Godard and Nicolas Bacri, to name a few, has earned her many awards: ‘Maestro Pianist’ in the Pianiste revue, Classic Info’s ‘Ring’, Crescendo’s ‘Joker’, 5 Diapasons and ‘Supersonic in Pizzicato’. Always exploring new avenues, Eliane devised the ‘Valses Poétiques’ concerts and readings with Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, ‘Music & Philosophy’ concerts with Jean-Yves Clément and Michel Onfray, and a series of ‘En mode’ concerts associating couturiers and music history with Yann Kerlau.
Eliane was taught by her mother and gave her first recital at the age of five, receiving the César Franck prize the same year. Her meetings with Gyorgy Cziffra when she was 10, becoming the youngest award-winner of his foundation, and with Martha Argerich when she was 14, were turning points in her career as a pianist. She studied at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels, then the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel with Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, before advancing to the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Lemmens Institute in Leuven and the CNSM in Paris under Michel Beroff, Brigitte Engerer and Jacques Rouvier.
Today, she teaches at the Royal Music Conservatory in Brussels and at Paris’s CNSM. In October 2016 she became the first Belgian pianist to receive the insignia of the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France.
