From the charming port of the Norman city of Honfleur, Le Boréal will set a course northward, in the mythical waters of the English Channel, to reach the Isle of Portland. Succumb to the charms of this limestone-rich island covered in lush vegetation. Here, serenity and a gentle way of life reign.
Next, you will sail to legendary Cornwall. In Fowey, you will marvel at Mother Nature’s masterpieces. There, you will discover a spellbinding environment of majestic cliffs and vast natural spaces, conducive to escape and tranquillity. Then, Falmouth will emerge before you. Surrounded by charming coastal landscapes, beaches of golden sand, and isolated coves, the British city promises a unique experience.
Le Boréal will leave England for Ireland, where you will discover the charming Kinsale Harbour, at the estuary of the River Bandon. Back in England, you will call at Fishguard. This small coastal town, sitting between two hills, was once a Viking trading post.
After calling at Warrenpoint, a charming small town nestling in an exceptional natural environment, you will reach Portrush. From here, you will have the possibility of visiting the legendary Giant’s Causeway, a gigantic geological formation listed with UNESCO.
For its grand finale, this trip draws to an end in Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city, known for its convivial and authentic atmosphere.

Expedition programmes include activities such as zodiac outings and landings (sometimes with "wet landing"), moderate walks to more active hikes, all accompanied by your expedition team of naturalist guides.
Ports of call, visited sites, outings and landings will depend on weather conditions, position of ice, winds and the state of the sea. These can force a change of plans at any time. The Captain and the Expedition Leader may at any time cancel or stop any activity, or even modify the itinerary. The final itinerary will be confirmed by the Captain, who will take into account the touristic quality of the sites and above all, the safety of the passengers. His decision will be based on advice from experts and authorities.
Travelling to polar/isolated regions is an exhilarating experience in remote areas: please remember that you are far from modern hospitals with full medical facilities, thus evacuation is extremely expensive. Without adequate medical coverage, all expenses will have to be immediately paid with your personal funds. We urge you to subscribe to full coverage insurance, choose your insurance company very carefully, be extremely vigilant and ensure your insurance is fully comprehensive, especially if you are insured by your credit card. Ideal clothes for life on board:
During the days spent on board, you are advised to wear comfortable clothes or casual outfits. The entire ship is air-conditioned, so a light sweater, a light jacket or a shawl may be necessary. When moving about in the public areas of the ship and the decks, light but comfortable shoes are recommended.
Informal evening:
In the evening, you are advised to wear smart-casual attire, especially when dining in our restaurants where wearing shorts and tee-shirts is not allowed.

Officer’s evening:

A small shop is available on board offering a wide range of outfits, jewellery, leather goods and many accessories.

A treasure of the Côte Fleurie, Honfleur is located on the edge of la Crique de Rouen in Normandy. You will no doubt admire the historical ships moored in its old port. With its tall, slate-covered houses, the quays provide a great setting for a very nice walk. In the streets behind the harbour, you will see many timber houses. These picturesque places were the cradle of several pre-impressionist painters. You can see their works in the Eugène Boudin museum. Exhibited works represent scenes of medieval streets and the coastline as it used to be, as illustrated by the Butin beach and its lush green hillsides.

Giant's Causeway hike
Enjoy a memorable hike along the North Antrim Cliff Path taking in the spectacular cliff landscape and rich biodiversity of the Causeway Coast.
You will begin your hike at Dunseverick Castle, although now in ruins it was once and important royal site with a history of resident Ulster clans. From here you will walk through farmland and on to some of the finest cliff scenery in Europe, with attractive bays such as Port Moon and headlands such as Hamilton's Seat. There are many fine viewing points over the cliff edge to the sea stacks below and across the sea to Rathlin Island.
You will make a brief stop at 'The Ampitheatre' - a spectacular bay which is only accessible by nesting fulmars and jackdaws. Continue on to some of the best panoramic views of the Giant's Causeway, the iconic mass of hexagonal columns that form a plateau out into the sea.

This excursion involves walking approximately 3h on well marked grass track with some ascent and descent. We recommend you wear comfortable hiking shoes and layered clothing. Bring water and a wind-proof and water-proof jacket. This tour does not include the visit of the Giant's Causeway and therefore does not allow you to walk directly on the basalt columns.

The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms and the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. To stroll the Giants Causeway is to voyage back in time. Your imagination will travel along stepping stones that lead to either the creative turbulence of a bygone volcanic age or into the myths and legends of the past.
The summer of 2012 marked the opening of the new Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway. This interpretative centre allows you to decide for yourself which explanation of how the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed is most likely (or simply most interesting!). Stories about the area’s rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna will paint the Causeway in your mind’s eye before you make your way to the stones themselves, by boarding the “Causeway Coaster” minibus, should you prefer not to walk.
Following your visit, you will drive back to Portrush and your ship.
- To fully appreciate the Giants’ Causeway, you will have to walk over uneven, slippery surfaces as well as steps. The amount of walking is at your discretion. A public bus runs between the visitor centre and the Giant's Causeway every 20 minutes. Scooters and all-terrain wheelchairs are available to borrow from the Visitor Centre but the availability is not garanteed. We recommend you wear good and comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties.
